Rewind

SUMMARY: What if we could rewind time for just a minute?

Unexpected moments,

filled with utter chaos,

left me bitterly frozen,

without words to be spoken.

Sitting on rocky stairs,

letting my hair fall aside,

wishing time could just rewind,

like light against time.

Had it only been,

a different moment within,

like a thunderous earthquake,

for my conscience to have awakened therein.

Lost in space,

paralyzed in chase…

How could time fly by?

Whilst my heart merely sighed.

Emptiness prevailed,

as my brain derailed,

all concentration away it sailed,

amidst a never-ending trail.

Echoes and breezes from the past,

How can I rewind time? I asked.

Take me back fast,

and let everything at last recast.

Breathing in the new present,

taking time in a new segment,

my head seems absent,

in a past nostalgic event. 

My heart thumps and echoes,

rushing across endless meadows,

those which only destiny knows,

across what moments time once froze.

A simple yet impossible action it is,

to rewind and rebind,

long lost moments and remind,

that the past must be left behind.
